overall a 3.5 ⭐️. there are definitely stories in here that were 5 stars: missed connections, rufus, move across the country, we will be close on friday july 18. loved the audiobook and all the different voice actors really brought these stories to life. these stories were weird and heartwarming and everything in between.

An AMAZING short story collection from one of the writers on BoJack Horseman. I absolutely loved this book. The story about wedding planning in a cult (make sure you have enough goats to sacrifice) along with the one right before it on why we continue to try to date sets the tone for the collection perfectly.

went in with too high expectations
the title is brilliant and I loved the first few stories, but the rest couldn't hold up to my expectations

I really loved this collection. The stories were just a little bit weird in the same way that BoJack is just a little bit weird. There are some stories that are incredibly heartfelt and some stories that are just silly. I listened to the audio book on a long drive and the readers do a great job of giving these stories the life they deserve

I loved this book. I was expecting to feel differently about this collection of short stories because I read the reviews before reading (my worst habit!) but I am absolutely obsessed with it. As a native New Yorker, The Serial Monogamists Guide to Important New York City Landmarks especially hit home for me.

My biggest takeaway from all the stories is that the love does not always imply romantic love. It is not always about a couple, but maybe a story of friends or family that centers love. That was especially admirable to me.

I am not much of a fantasy or sci-fi reader, but some of these stories have seriously made me reconsider. Each story was unique, fun, and the perfect length. There was no warning whether it would be based in reality or a completely fictional world, or somewhere far far away or that big American city we all know of, you kind of just had to let it be. This is definitely a collection I will re-read frequently.
