the reddit threads are correct, the first two books go together and the last two books go together, plot wise. it’s gets much more complex and takes a turn but i was still curious how it will all come together. also the relationship development was delish.

The Memory of Babel didn't grip me as much as The Missing of Clairedelune but I actually think that it did a graceful job of a handling a difficult transition. The first half of the book suffered from having to establish a brand new world with an almost entirely new band of characters but I think that Dabos did a good job of using this portion to properly set up the second half and what I'm presuming will be a satisfying conclusion to the series. I'm actually quite excited to jump into the final installment. This world has a lot of scope (thanks to this book, in particular) and a lot of potential for a grand finale.

SO good. I love the Ophelia gets her own journey and self-discovery before getting with Thorn. Kinda wish there was a touch more dialogue between them but alas. I also think it would have been cool for Ophelia to master her claws or at least use them - there was plenty of opportunity.
