If you’re interested in (and intimidates by) astrology, you need this book! Chani is beloved for a reason and makes this complex subject totally relevant and accessible. You basically download your chart at her website and then use the info she gives you in this book to decipher it all. I found it really affirming and illuminating! Really happy I picked it up.

Found this very easy to follow, I listened to most of it and read some parts of it. I plan on doing the reflection questions and thinking more about what I've learnt. It's the first time I've read about being a Scorpio Sun that doesn't feel insulting, like we're sarcastic sex fiends who hide in the dark and only wear black. C'mon! Understanding the other aspects of my chart was super helpful too.
Also, SO nice to read a book without heteronormative relationship assumptions. Thank you, Chani! Reading works by queer authors is a delight.
I would like to learn more, particularly as there were things on the birth chart on the website that aren't covered in the book, like the Nodes? WTF are those??

I finished reading this book a while ago but it took me longer to go back and reread my sections and answer the reflection questions. I’ve had many astrology books over the years and wasn’t sure I needed another one. But her framing of the things I thought I already understood (Sun, moon) gave me more insights than my other books ever had. And I don’t think I’d ever known about the importance of the planet that ruled my rising sign. Anyway today I got a Mars tattoo so yes I would say it resonated.

Second time reading through this book. I appreciate the organized way she presents the reading components and the modern language she interprets things through. Reads like half astrological profiles, half self-reflective personal analysis. Does it help to have your "self" dialed in to such an extent? As she points out somewhere around ascending signs, if your stars prescribe you to be the center of the show, why squash that urge? If you are an analytical manifestation of the universe, you don't need to be hard on yourself for wanting to think things through before acting. What I think is most important and giving about astrology is the opportunity to see ourselves and those around us with more compassion and understanding. No one ever went to war over astrological ideals! (Unless it was the ancient Greeks, and they fought all the time anyway)

Important caveat: This book is only for people who find value in astrology. If that’s you, check it out. If the mere phrase “birth chart” grosses you out, skip it.
