I read this book after finding it in a school storage closet. My guess is that it was read by students as part of their English curriculum. I wish I could have taken that class. I'm not sure I understand all the nuance and symbolism that Muriel Spark was trying to express. All I can say is, I hope that I'm not a teacher like Miss Jean.
