I read S8 between 2011 -2012 so I plan on continuing while Boom releases the new comics. I didn't really care for the plot though or the artwork. The artwork wasn't the greatest. I am a huge Buffy stan as Ive stated in my reviews so hopefully Season 9 gets better because this first issue was just underwhelming and slightly boring.

I forget how short a comic book can feel. This was like a chapter and a short one at that. Poor Buffy. Though it feels kind of cringey to be hanging out with Buffy after she got blackout drunk and it is the next day and she is trying to figure out what happened, what she might have done. Entertaining though. 3.5 of 5.

I really needed to read S8 before I got started on this. I got a bit fuzzy towards the end of my S8 reading and am still really a bit confused by the whole Twilight/Seed payoff.

Still, an interesting start. Writing was tight. Art, however, was a bit of a mess. That was Dawn? Willow has changed hair colour (and style, but that's intentional). Riley looked nothing like Riley. Let's not even talk about Andrew. I've got used to the comic likeness of the characters that Georges shaped in S9, so I'm not expecting the characters to look like the actors but I didn't even feel like they managed to look consistent with S8.

We'll see how this progresses I guess...

Interesting to see what's in store for the old Buffster after 8. Buffy with roommates that aren't sucking her soul. Though it seems like instead of maturing she's backpedaling a little.

Story is interesting, the art is not. Wish I could give it 3.5 stars but because Spike made an appearance I'll give it the benefit of the extra half star.
