It was around this one or dark flame when I started getting really annoyed with the characters. It's understandable to give the character faults, but when they are constantly going about doing STUPID thing after stupid thing it reduced my interest in the book. I enjoyed the series at first, but it went downhill. After Dark flame I did not pick up anymore.
I liked this book a lot more than the previous one.
It follows Ever as she has to explain to Damen the big mistake she made in the previous book and how they go about trying to find an antidote and fix it. They also have to deal with Roman, the evil Immortal who ruined the relationship between them.
Ever really irritated me in this book. I know people make mistaked throughout their life but the mistakes that Ever made seem to be a little too often and they are stupid mistakes most people would not make.
I really felt for Damen as he realised the mistake Ever made and he realised that if they tries to be together his life would be in danger.
I loved that Jude came into it as another soul mate for Ever and I really like him. He is such a sweet guy who only wants what is best for Ever.

Gaah Ever is such an idiot! I can't even describe how much I dislike her! She's always doing something wrong and she pisses me off like you wouldn't believe! She's pretty much useless. She has a couple strong points but it's really nothing that any other immortal couldn't do. And at the end of this one, with Haven. HOW STUPID COULD SHE BE?! I get that it would be hard to just let that happen to your best friend, but Ever knew what would happen because of her decision! She did the same thing that Damon did to her; didn't give her a choice. UGH!
She makes me want to give up the series. But at the same time, I'm curious as to what happens next; what her next screw up will be.
This freaking series makes me have so many damn feels, most of them not good, a lot of them being anger/frustration, and then the few good ones that make be keep reading.

Why Ever? Just why. Look, this series gets more more chance. One.
This was a nice light novel to read in between the somewhat heavier books I normally read (classical literature, prize winning books, etc.). It's a romantic Young Adult novel I bought in England in 2010. I didn't find the time to read it until now, though.
At this point, the series starts to feel strained, and dragging on. It was sort of like a chore trying to get this one done then the next before just disliking it too much to get to the end.
This series is starting to follow a Twilight-like theme, however with a much less riveting plot. I've decided to read a short overview of the next couple of books and then read the last book. I currently still want to know what happens to Damon and Ever, but one more book like this one and I'm afraid I just won't care!
What a great book! It's gonna kill me to wait a few weeks for the next one! I can't wait to see what happens next, but I hate being left hanging and she seems to drag this situation out between Damen and Ever for so long! End it already, ugh!
Very hard to read after about halfway through. Won't be picking up another book from the Evermore series again.
Plot: A nice continuation to the series. I'm glad that the series is not jumping from one problem to the next as I thought it might be. Ever and Damen aren't able to touch or kiss each other still, which makes the romance a verbal thing. That isn't a bad thing at all, I love Damen's little whispers of endearment to Ever. However, this one seemed to have dragged. I didn't like the endless cycle Ever and Roman would do. Roman would talk about a riddle he had and Ever still kept trying to solve it. I did like the trips to Summerland, they seemed to bring more insight into Ever's past and secrets Damen had kept. But, in the end, Roman is like a virus and never just stops! That does make things interesting though, but it doesn't stop me from hating him.
Characters: Ever-Again, I loved Ever because she always keeps trying. No matter what, she knows what she wants, even if there are obstacles getting in her way. It seemed like she was more determined for her and Damen to be together than Damen was. However, I wish that she was more loving and honest with Miles and Haven, it seems like she loves them but doesn't share with them anything while they always do with her.
Damen-I wanted to see more of Damen, he was out of the book more than usual. Even in Blue Moon, he was in the book, just not the way we would have liked. It seemed like he was more a stranger in here. I did love when he was in the scenes though, and couldn't help but love when he was getting jealous. It was too cute!
Roman-Hate him! Which is a good thing, if an author is able to make me hate an evil character than they're doing a great job. I wish he would just move along. The boy needs to get a life and move on from Drina. And, I hated his little perv comments to Ever. I hope Ever deals with him soon!
Jude-I hope Jude is in the next few books. He is a good character and I feel like we didn't get to really know him because Ever didn't want to and it was in her POV. I hope that I do get to know him because he seems genuine and he doesn't seem like a bad guy.
Cover: I love the series' covers. This one truly fits with the book like the others do with theirs. I can't say why Ever has he crystals without spoiling, but they fit the theme of this book. However, I was thinking that showing a certain book that is continuously mentioned in Shadowland might have been better.
Overall Rating: I give this book a three out of four. It was a nice continuation, but it was dragging in some parts. Hopefully, Dark Flame will pick up from Shadowland and answer my questions!
Peace and Fangs,
Alisha
