This sort of reminds me of Brandon Massey's "Nana". Soul-sucking old people.
Absolutely odd and weird. Felt like a fever dream. The descriptions were vile, now I feel queasy LOL.

Mark Towse is a new to me author. When I came across Nana, I had to check it out. The cover alone caught my attention and creeped me out and the blurb sealed the deal.

If you think this is going to be your average visit to grandma’s house, you are completely wrong.

This book started out odd and got even more disturbing as the story unfolds. When Joan comes into the picture I was instantly creeped out and intrigued by her character. I felt this way about several of them. Towse brings a very odd bunch of characters to life. Once you have met them all your mind will be blown.

So many strange things are happening that will have you questioning everything that you just read. The events that take place at the community center make for a very dark and disturbing read. All I could think is poor Olly. I bet he had none of this in mind when he went to visit Nana. I enjoyed the mystery that was scattered throughout this book about Nana and what was yet to come with her.

All the madness leads to an ending that I was not expecting. This was my first read by Towse and I have to say it was gruesome, strange, and rather trippy. He has a wild imagination! I look forward to checking out more of his work.

Creepy and quite disturbing. Very imaginative read and I personally enjoy it. Got this during Terrify your Tablet campaign, thank you author!

The story is nice. For the story, it could have gotten a 3.5, maybe route up to 4? But way too much gore for my own taste, so rounding it down to a 3.

wth did I just read. actually, I listened to it. I used 1.4 speed which is much slower than my usual 1.6-1.7.
anyways, I guess to children, old people can be creepy. just imagine if old people creepiness was real!!! lol. this story is equal parts humor and entertainment

So gross BUT loved it! The young boys were written so well and I felt for both of them so quickly. Getting old is not always pretty and this larger than life characterization of it almost feels more accurate and honest than most stories of aging. So well done!

This book was horrific/unsettling/ and at times hilarious and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Nana is a dark, unsettling novella that hits the ground running. There’s an eerie feeling of dread that starts from the very first paragraph and carries throughout the story with a devastating conclusion.

This story follows Ollie, a young boy
who is forced to spend the night over his Nana’s house because his parents are looking to spend an evening alone to sort out their crumbling marriage.

Ollie does not want to go to Nana Ivy’s house. She’s smelly, boring, and he feels like he’s old enough to stay at home alone. Despite his pleas to be allowed to stay home he ends up at Nana Ivy’s house and thrust into an evening of hell.

I liked how in the beginning we’re introduced to a cast of characters through the brief and disgusting interactions with the paperboy. From the start I was like what am I getting myself into
