Very good! I was shocked to learn that this book was only 389 pages because so much happened! It read like a 600-page book. In a good way! Amy Harmon is such a good writer and storyteller.

A Different Blue was a captivating read and one of my more favorite fade to black romances but really this author writes the best romances that have very little spice to it. Which is refreshing to see stories that don't rely on the spice to deliver a powerful story. I was very nervous before reading this book. I never know what to expect with a teacher/student romance pairing. This is also a super slow burn but I really enjoyed how well this book was written. Many times with a teacher/student pairing, there is quite a bit of inappropriate discussions happening. But Amy Harmon really handled this setup so delicately and loved the way the accidental pregnancy was portrayed. It had a very honest approach to it that I found refreshing. I also appreciated how the Native American heritage was handled within this story. I was able to listen to this one in the format of an audiobook, and it was purely delightful to listen to. This author just has the best narrations for her books. They so easily draw you into the story and with how she writes being so slow burn, it's much appreciated there. The more and more that I read from this author, the more I respect this writing style and just want to read more of it.

Blue

this book is very interesting and a little sad yet happy .. Blue echohawk is high school student that has lived her whole life not knowing who she is or where exactly she came from.. she knows nothing about herself.. Darcy Wilson(her young history teacher ) helps her along the way to open up and find her way .. not realizing that'd she's helping him understands things that has also happened to him.. but she turns her life around and goes on this amazing search to find out about her past and who she really is (name..mother.. dob.. etc) the journey is amazing..amazing book about a strong young lady needing to find her way

I am pretty new to Amy Harmon's books, but what little I have read from her I have loved. A Different Blue was really great and I loved that it wasn't just another cookie cutter story. Everything I have read from Amy Harmon is beautifully written and different from anything else I have read before. A Different Blue is definitely |
a book worth reading, and I am looking forward to more from Amy Harmon.

Blue Echohawk doesn't know who she is. After being abandoned at the age of two, she was raised by a drifter. Since she didn't start school until the age of ten, at the age of nineteen she is just a senior in high school. She is troubled and struggling when her young British teacher decides he is the man to take her under his wing. Soon a friendship forms, but what happens when it starts to become more?

I loved these characters. Blue had been dealt so much and yet she handled it with a grace and strength that was inspiring. But she was still struggling and lost and Darcy was perfect for her! He was kind and supportive, showing her that her choices mattered. He was exactly what she needed and I just couldn't get enough of these two.

Overall, this was a great story. Amy Harmon is such a talented story teller, and I love that she doesn't shy away from tackling some tough issues. This book was emotional and beautiful, even while it broke my heart at times. This is the kind of story that stays with you, and one that is definitely worth the read. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are looking for something that is different from what is typically done in the NA genre.

That was, all in all, a subpar work of fiction that definitely cannot be classified as romance. Advertised incredibly incorrectly, while you get to know the characters well, the intense direct characterization makes it seem very fake and forced.
