Please know the first chapter is not representative of the whole book! The first chapter is unbearably corny but the rest picks up and is the most engaging book I’ve read in so long. I enjoyed the representation and complexity in each character. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a story with disability representation.

This next part is something I would like to say about a character’s actions. It was uncontested in a way I found upsetting, but I did not take off points for it as a character flaw is not a book flaw (the -.25 is for the corny first chapter, lol). It is definitely a spoiler:
Mirabel has every right to love and be loved, but to go behind her sister’s back like that was messed up. The book portrays it like it’s a complex situation where both are in the wrong, but Mirabel was so deeply in the wrong in a way that the book seemed to ignore.
