This is a fairly non serious story with lots of hijinx and outlandish events. The humor is very "you thought it was this way? Don't be silly, it's clearly this way" throughout the whole book. I had fun reading it and did think lots of it was funny. I think I would have liked slightly less silliness and a bit more seriousness (just a touch). It's still a pretty fun read if you just want some fun vibes in a semi historical setting. Also they fly their houses around via magic, like UP but with less balloons and more "proper" lady pirates.

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the adventure, the comedy, the romance. Everything was spot on! The ridiculous flying houses and women pirates. I had so much fun reading this! I need to read more books like this, I was giggling like a schoolgirl the whole time. BRILLIANT, I highly recommend! The characters were so charming and the dialogue was very well written!

As a whole, I liked this except for the interminably long bedroom scene which is absolutely cringe-inducing on audiobook .

Really fun read! I'm glad I read a few reviews first though since this is definitely a fantasy book but the marketing makes it seem like a normal historical romance.

This was a delightful, fun, light story with a cast of wonderful characters and a wonderfully humorous narrative voice. I just wish that the plot had been a bit more substantial. Otherwise it was a very fun read!
