This book surprised me with how much I loved it. The plot twist I sort of saw coming but loved it all the same. I think it was done really well. I loved the characters and the lore. The touch of magic and how it doesn’t always appear liked we’d like it to. It was really good. I enjoyed it. Not a horror or even a thriller. But just a wholesome little ghost love story

2 stars only for the atmosphere, the romance was absolutely terrible, and the plot twist was highly predictable. Wanted to love this, but it just didn't happen.

Strong Hocus Pocus vibe, but a little less Disney and a little more The Skeleton Key. So basically, I loved it.

I only have 2 minor complaints/questions:

1. When the "big reveal" was revealed, it was so subtle, I wasn't sure it was actually happening. Honestly, I thought it was a typo that was missed in the editing process, but then a few sentences later there was another clue that suggested the first wasn't a typo, and I was just like, "wait what?"

2.
SpoilerSo if the sisters weren't actually witches, how did this curse get put on them?

Otherwise, I enjoyed everything about this book. I liked it so much, I'm going to have to put [a:Shea Ernshaw|15941035|Shea Ernshaw|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1574101213p2/15941035.jpg]'s other book on my to-read list.

3.5 stars. Let me start off by saying I enjoyed this, I really did. However, I found the plot EXTREMELY predictable and thought the characters personalities a bit lack luster. I thought the writing was quit lovely though and the author did a great job setting up the atmosphere of the book. I enjoyed the ending quit a bit and the characters did grow on me throughout the story. I can't wait to read more from [a:Shea Ernshaw|15941035|Shea Ernshaw|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1486523401p2/15941035.jpg] in the future.

This book was much better than I anticipated. I had heard so many mixed reviews, most of them not the greatest. Therefore making me skeptical going into the book.

Let's start at the beginning, shall we?

Shea Ernshaw had me hooked from page one. The atmosphere in this novel was fantastic and descriptive. Not overly descriptive like some books, but in my opinion, just enough. It was enticing and spooky while also sounding beautiful. I found this to be a perfect mix of description with everything else. Shea Ernshaws writing was also beautiful and very vivid which made my imagination work overtime. I really wish this was a true setting!

The characters...oh boy! I didn't see the main twist, not even a little bit. I honestly thought that perhaps Bo was someone else. He was all mysterious and didn't want to give anyone information about him or where he came from. He was an outsider that seemed to show up at the most convenient time and then he wouldn't tell anyone anything. Due to all his mysterious behaviour and manners, I thought he would end up having something to do with the Swan sisters. Therefore when the twist happened it blew me out of the water.

I loved this whole book and everything in it. I especially loved how in between some of the chapters there were little historical stories about the town in the past. It made the story much more believable, yes I do know it is fiction. In my opinion, a good fiction story like this should try to seem realistic. Shea Ernshaw did just that. She made everything sound as if she witnessed it.

This book deserves all the stars in my opinion and I can't wait to read more from Shea!

This book was so good! I received it from my daughter as a Mother's Day gift and instantly fell in love with the awesome cover! I loved the characters, the town, the mystery and Shea Ernshaw's writing style. I all ready can't wait to read her next novel. If you like spooky atmospheric books about curses and witches, you must read this book. Special thanks to my daughter Kristin for this very thoughtful gift. I loved it so much I'm going to read it again!
