It was beautifully written. My only issue is the epilogue confused me a little bit

The Ocean at the End of the Lane is such a lovely story in a relatively sort book. It was difficult it put it down during the time I read it. The reflections of an older man on his childhood put the reader in a position to remember their own: the way they once felt small and insignificant but yet brave and loving.

This book was absolutely heart-wrenching and the entire time reading I  kept thinking “he’s just a baby” (7 but still). The relationships he has with Lettie, her family, and Ocean is just beautifully written.

I enjoyed this book even though it made me sad. I would love to revisit this world. The characters are interesting and the world-building left me wondering what else there was to discover about it. It's a short book but it's the perfect length for the story.

a wonderful, short read. I hope to never read about
a worm burrowing into someone's foot and being pulled out
ever again.

This story felt cozy in a way. It was strange, and charming, and beautiful. The strange magical world that was created really drew me in.
