Zakaj se Švedski policajac uopće uplital u Litvansku političku igru 90-ih? Kakti zbog ljubavi. Iskreno, da je bilo samo riječ o dvojici ubijenih, a ne cijela glupost s totalitarnim režimom i zapadni blok VS istočni blok, knjiga bi mi čak bila i zanimljiva.

It took me a long time to finish this book. Too many distractions.
I felt that it was a bit predictable and I'm just not that attached to the characters.
I think I am giving up on this series...
I still liked reading it, but I prefer a real murder mystery and his style is more depressed detective stumbling around and finding out a secret.

"The Dogs of Riga" by Henning Mankell presents an intriguing yet slow-paced narrative. While the plot is well-crafted and engaging, there are moments where the story feels stagnant, lacking significant progress. The complexity of the narrative subject might have been better suited for visual storytelling, such as a TV show or movie. Despite this, I found the book enjoyable, although slightly less captivating than the first installment in the Wallender series.

Henning Mankell writes complex, dark and detailed thrillers and this is a great example. The richness of the story is thick and dense. You can feel Riga all around you just as the characters do. The thievery and the complexion of the characters is as real as it gets. I love the flaws and the bumps and bruises.

You don't feel that the text is made up, you feel like it is dreamlike at times, but not made up. There is a difference and that difference draws you in and makes you want to finish the book and move on to others in the same world.

I enjoyed the book, although I thought that Wallender seemed strikingly naive at times. Mankell’s writing is sometimes a little awkward, although it is usually spare and transparent.
