I love irreverence. I love books that play with religious stories and ideas. This sounded irresistible.

I've only read a smattering of both Pratchett and Gaiman, and collaborations are always an interest - how DO two authors manage to write together? Not knowing much about their particular styles, I felt that however they each contributed it meshed and blended together into a whole, it doesn't feel disjointed.

It's a fabulous story - about the Anti-Christ being sent to earth and swapped with another baby in the hospital essentially, but with several concurrent storylines involving Witches, witchfinders, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Hell's Angels and at the heart of it a book of prophesies that are actually true.

Very convoluted to explain, it's a winding and witty play with language, with convention and with lots and lots of footnotes. But funny ones.

Really enjoyed it. One that could be reread with relish.

Very fun book! It has a quirky humor to it and analogies that are so entertaining.
The TV show stays pretty true to the source, so if you’ve seen the show, expect pretty similar scenes. The descriptions are much better though!
