So baby of my favorite ladies! I wish the stories interconnected, but enjoyed them all separately

This was my first time reading a short story collection. This was a really cute read and and was kind of like a love letter to New York. I'm happy all of these authors came together to write this and I loved how the stories connected.

I've never read any of these authors before so i have no inherent bias towards any or against of them. I'm just happy to a have a short story collection of black love.

A Long Walk: I thought this was was okay, Tammi annoyed me but with how much Kareem cared for her, to the point it made me tear up, that made of for how much Tammi annoyed me.

Mask Off: This one was a slow build, but the relationship between Tremaine and JJ was too cute especially the masquerade party

Made to Fit: This one I think was the weakest to me unfortunately, Nella and Joss were cute but the relationship compared to the other was weak, I think it was because almost everyone else (expect Grace and Seymour) had history which made them all pretty believable. This was too instalove-y.

All the Great Love Stories...and Dust: This one was also pretty okay to me, Friends to lovers

No Sleep Till Brooklyn: This one was my favorite because it was messy ass hell and I love that! I also like that there was no definitive conclusion to the problems

Seymour and Grace: This was cute af.

realistic/romance YA is not my thing. the stories were all well-written, the characters were well-rounded, all of that, but listening to 16 year olds figure out their romantical feelings is just... not for me as an adult. 3.5 for my reading pleasure, 4 for quality
