I absolutely ate this book up, but i felt a little bit disconnected from the stories because im white. But I luckily could connect to the lgbtq stories. I loved this book its an huge recommendation, because its so fun and educational to (sorta) experience different perspectives

this anthology follows black teens across new york as they experience a power outage and fall in love. each story had its own unique touch, which i always love to see in anthologies. i also enjoyed how the stories overlapped a bit, as they are set in the same city. overall, this was an enjoyable read perfect for a summer night.

That ending was shockingly bad, especially since it was written by Nicola Yoon.

I will say the only stories I was interested in were the ones written by Angie Thomas, Nic Stone and Tiffany D Jackson.

I’d say Dhonielle’s and Nicola’s were the worst.

I had high hopes for this book. I was so excited but as the book went on my excitement went away. I just felt like it was hard to keep the stories together and to also keep the characters straight.
