I honestly don't have much to say about this book considering it just isn't my kind of thing. It isn't my style and I don't relate to the subject matter. It is put together beautifully, but I'm not sure I would have genuinely enjoyed it at any age even if I were the target audience. Johnson's writing is good for reluctant readers, and the story is even part of a series that readers can continue through if they get hooked--which is especially good for young readers.

I would recommend this to a kid who doesn't really like to read but needs something to get into. Kids would really love Johnson's writing if they aren't that into reading yet.

Warnings:
- no violence or anything like that
- this is a pretty clean-ish book that parents would enjoy, too

It's not action packed, and it's not an adventure or even a complex story. And it's not particularly well written, but it wasn't bad overall.
I think I have a vague memory of reading it in middle school. Maybe that's why it seemed so familiar.

This novel is a beautifully written account of Marley's life in Heaven, Ohio. Characters that appear in other Heaven novels are introduced. Everything that Marley has been accepted to be true is put in to question, when she learns her family's secret.

This book was a bit of a disappointment. I thought from reading the blurb on the fly-leaf that it would be a good story, but it just seemed to ramble on, and there were times I truly didn't get the point of what was going on and what it had to do with anything. I read this book because my young niece was reading it and I told her we'd read it together ... I'm hoping she understands it in the end -- I have a feeling she won't really.
