I honestly didn’t think I’d love this book as much as I actually did. I love the acotar series, especially for the action, conflict, keeping you on the edge of your seat, etc. At first I was a little disappointed that this book was a novella and focused on the character relationships but the book came through!!!

I loved how we got to still see conflict, mainly internal conflict, and still got to dee the romance and tension;).

Honestly we got new perspectives on recurring characters like cassian , got to dee some depth into his usually carefree character. And some reasoning behind why nesta is as stubborn as she is. I loved it!

Short and sweet. Exactly what this series needed. It was wholesome and heartbreaking (like all in the series) watching the aftermath of the war. Watching a chosen family try to piece one another back together.
Raw, emotional and beautiful in every way.
Also a great set up for A Court of Silver Flames!

"i have to create, or it was all for nothing. i have to create, or i will crumple up with despair and never leave my bed. i have to create because i have no other way of voicing this. it is hard, and it hurts, but if i were to stop . . . then there would be no Hope shining in the Void."

just finished my reread and <3 this book is a gentle rest

original review:
