I stayed up all night reading it!

As a rule I love books set up at sea.

This was enjoyable, fast, feel good read that checks all romance boxes and has good amount of tension.

If you enjoy ships, forced proximity, false identity, sunshine/grumpy trope this one is for you.

Sigh. I usually like Christi Caldwell’s work, but I hated this book-HATED it. I could not stand Cassia. The reviews said to keep reading, it would get better, but it never did for me. She was just as annoying as ever.

This one just wasn’t for me.

While normally a Caldwell fan, I really didn't care for the previous entry in this series and was therefore somewhat reluctant to start "The Heiress at Sea." However, it totally redeemed itself for me. I actually laughed out loud while reading this book, finding the banter between Cassia and others, especially Nathan, cheeky and fun. Cassia is literal, sheltered, and naive, which I found sweetly amusing, especially set against the reactions of others. I admired her spunk and her willingness to try and overcome all the things that went wrong on her grand adventure. She and Nathan together have great chemistry even as she frustrates the heck out him (in more ways than one!). I read this in a very enjoyable afternoon.

A couple quibbles - I would have liked a slightly more open door on the love scenes. I also thought the attack/rescue was a little too cute and the third act separation rather predictable. That said, I would still recommend this story.

3.75 stars rounded to 4. Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

I kept trying to make it work but sadly wasn't for me

I pushed through to the reveal that she was in fact a woman, hoping that it would pick up after that but i kinda just lost interest

Perfect example of this genre. I could have used a little less fade to black in the steamy scenes, but still thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I think the author owns me, she promised one thing and fall short, the author could've worked better the relationship between the two main characters so it didn't feel off. The premise is good, but the characters story felt meh

Cute ocean romance.

This was a cute short romance. I enjoyed reading it. Nathan was my favourite character. He proved himself a romantic hero indeed.

I won't lie, the heroine makes me want to throw myself overboard and drown. She is beyond annoying. The constant crying and rambling... just not for me. Sorry. But the hero is the gooeist, most wonderful, protective cinnamon roll ever. He's a bit grumpy at first but he's never harsh, he's always respectful. All of his crew are wonderful as well, with the exception of a few. The story overall was very good except, like I said, for the crying and blabbering. I also don't care for the Scottish words I guess? All the overuse of "mayhap" and "nay" is distracting from the story in my opinion. I appreciate the opportunity to review this book.
