We follow geeta who has been abandoned by her husband and supposedly the gossip that she “murdered him.”

So when these other females in the village come to seek help to murder their husbands who are obviously HORRIBLE.

I love how the author used this book to explore so many topics in Indian society!

Loved this book. It felt different from other books I’ve read before.

I enjoyed  the positive themes and appreciated the author’s approach on tackling the hard topics, too: women’s friendships, strength in numbers, domestic violence, class dynamics, etc.

I can see what some people were saying about the tonal shift being jarring, but I appreciated the mix of humor and seriousness. To me, it helped make a difficult topic way more bearable. I get so involved in the books I read that heavy subject matter can take a toll on me. So her use of humor to offset the violence and abuse was helpful for me.

Even characters I didn’t like originally, I came to really like in the end. I love what that happens because it makes them more dimensional.

Overall, my fav read of the year so far (March 2024).
