The problem with second books years after the first is that I remember nothing of this world or the drama and instead am just thrown into a relationship at its peak with weak backstory.

GAHHHH this was as close to 5 stars as it could possibly be (just didn’t get the feeling) sooo good!!!!
I really enjoyed the way the plot was developed in this book. For a good while in the beginning, we had three different plots happening with three separate characters, that eventually all came together. I loved the way everything was fleshed out and woven together, such good storytelling.
In book one we only get Darien and Loren’s third person pov, but in this one we also get Max’s which I really loved. It added so much to the found family and side characters (also hints for new characters in book 3!!! so excited)
So much of this hurt my heart when it came to Loren and Darien but it was all worth it I swear. And wow wow wow wow wow that ending!!! Sobbed my way through the last 100 pages god.
I feel like I’m slowly inching my way up to have a 5 star in this series, starting book 3 as we speak!!!!
