Holy crap did it take me a long time to finish this book.
I really loved the first one but the second one was difficult to get through, I almost DNFed it. But I remembered how much I’d loved Darien and Loren in the first one and felt invested in what would happen with them, so I kept on reading.
This sequel could be at least 300 pages shorter in my opinion. The first 100 pages or so were good too; but then I got lost. Too many characters; plot lines,… most of the time I was just trying to figure out who was who, what they were doing here etc. Too many scenes felt repetitive, which didn’t help with the feeling of the book being too long.
I’m on the fence about continuing the series now.
