I feel very strongly that I shouldn't enjoy these books. And in saying that I'm doing a disservice to the author, because they're actually pretty bloody good: well-written, oddly believable (despite the content), non-preachy, and the underlying message is quite lovely. Yes, there's a love triangle but I'm okay with that because it's so well done. The one thing that really impresses me with its authenticity is Clara's relationship with her sibling Jeffrey. I don't have a younger brother so maybe I'm way off, but all their interactions ring true for me. Looking forward to the third installment.

Loved it!
This is by far the best angel based series I have read and I can't wait to pick up the third book.

SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read Unearthly, this review may contain spoilers.
I have to start off by saying there is not enough Tucker in this book. I love him and Clara together and I wanted more!
Okay not that that's out of the way I really did enjoy this book and I think it might even be better than Unearthly. Everything developed so much more in this story and while the ending didn't exactly tie things up, it was not a cliffhanger.
Hallowed starts off shortly after the ending of Unearthly and it takes no time at all to get back into the story. Things are much more dangerous in this book and there are a lot of secrets. I think the secrets are what kept me interested the most. Everyone had secrets and I wanted to know them all. And boy were they some shocking secrets. I was a surprised by a lot of things that happened in Hallowed and the people that did them.
The story really took off in this book. A lot more angel-blood history was shared, a lot of new characters were introduced, and more was revealed about everyone's purposes. There was also a ton of action in this book. I think the new characters added a lot to the story and I was very glad to see the old characters grow. I was proud of how Clara handled things, I grew to care for Christian and see how sweet he was, I saw Tucker maturing, and I was shocked at some things that happened to the other characters. I am really excited to see what happens in the next book.
Overall, Hallowed is a must-read for everyone who read Unearthly. There is something in it for everyone! Cynthia Hand is a fabulous author and she really proved it with Hallowed!

Didn't like it as much as I liked the first book, but none the less great book. If you liked Unearthly you should pick up this sequel.
i loved this story line. had a lot of twists and turns i didnt see coming, which was great. The endings sad as one character dies :( why do all the innocent chara characters die?!?
This was a quick easy read, but not much happened. Seriously, there was only enough plot for a short story. There was only one short action scene in the whole book.
There weren't really any good Clara and Tucker moments after the beginning. Then it's all about Clara and Christian. It's like they're pushing us to root for Christian.
Her vision wasn't much of a mystery and Clara didn't even figure it out herself. She literally did nothing for herself.
It wasn't until the end where we find out what happened with Clara's brother at the end of the last book. I really can't stand him, he's such a jerk!
I really liked Clara's mom's best friend Billy, and some of the other angel bloods. But my favorite new character was Clara's dad! On the other hand, there wasn't much of Angela and Wendy was barely in it.
The ending was sad and didn't really resolve anything. What a letdown! I'm not sure if I care enough to read book three. I wish I hadn't read book two.

“Our purpose on this earth is not one single event, an accomplishment we can check off a list. There is no test. No passing or failing. There's only us, each moment shaping who we are, into what we will become.”

I loved this book, I enjoyed it much more than the first one, and although at first I was somewhat heavy, on the other hand its content is very interesting.
And even though I have many questions, I think it answered a few at this time
I remember the first book although it was a beautiful and light reading , I didn't feel shocked me at any time, in this case I felt caught in an opportunity, that has cast myself even more hooked with the plot. At the same time initially was somewhat predictable, the theme of the visions that Clara had, well I personally could guess where the plot was when she took a completely different path before actually discovering the truth, which hasn't been a surprise .
But then Clara's dad shows up and is coolest thing of this book, I'm super excited to see what gonna to happen in the next.
I fell in love with Christian in this book, is so noble and interesting, the truth is that I think I've already chosen my side in this love triangle. I don't know how this continues, but he is an excellent character. His scenes with Clara are beautiful !.
“I'll never forget the way he tastes. It's not anything I can describe, a little sweet and a whole lot of spice, and it feels, in that moment, absolutely right.”

I have to confess that I've dropped a tear with some scenes with Clara and her mother , it was super sentimental and has touched my heart. I can not wait to see how Clara faced the world now, she will face her destiny, finally and place which occupied each character at the end. I'm excited for the last book :).
“There's nothing more inspiring than the complexity and beauty of the human heart.”
P.D: If it took me a while to read it, I want to clarify, that was not because the book is heavy at all, because for me these books are very quick to read, it's just that I haven't had much time to read :(
Liked it more than the first book but I had some issues that I couldn't ignore!!
Review to come! (Hopefully this weekend!!)

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I even shed a few tears and did some stealth reading while my professors lectured. But I couldn't get past the. One of the things I enjoyed most about [b:Unearthly|7488244|Unearthly (Unearthly #1)|Cynthia Hand|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1324782984s/7488244.jpg|9621771] was that it broke some serious rules in regards to the romantic aspects of YA. Clara went against the grain and followed her heart instead of the ever popular destiny (gag!). But in this book it looks like destiny won out. How unoriginal and saddening. That's my only complaint about this book, everything else was ace. Well, except for . That sucked ☹

Clara's mom dying
I have this problem with books -- I read them way too quickly. I downloaded Unearthly and I stayed up for five hours and read the entire thing. Then instead of reviewing or something more important like sleeping -- I downloaded Hallowed...and read that cover to cover for the rest of the night. No, I did not sleep at all.
