3.5 - 4 (but borderline 4; that's why I rate 4 instead of 3 like I usually do) stars
So many tears shed, but maybe it's just me and my paper heart. Didn't take much to make me cry, tbh.

"My life is a soap opera."
"A really, really addictive soap opera."
That pretty much explains the whole book. SO. MUCH. DRAMA. But it was pretty addicting for a book where not many things happen. Don't ask why, because I have no idea.
I did like some parts of the book. Others, not so much. The characters were interesting. Minus the whole love triangle thing. At first, I didn't mind it. And then they fought over her - that's when it got annoying.
I really hope the purposes are not about falling in love. Jeffery's was interesting. Clara's and her mom's however... You would've thought that purposes would be something interesting like helping a general win a war or carrying a secret message that changes history forever or starting an uprising against a tyrant. Or the whole point of a guardian angel - protecting someone. Just saying.
As far as comparing it to other books, Hush, Hush had so much more action (and a bonus - humor). This is kind of like Fallen, except the setting doesn't change as much. And, about Twilight: apparently, in Clara's world everyone looooves to sit outside other people's windows. Why doesn't Christian's uncle notice his absences? Clara and Christian can even talk through their minds. Why can't they use it instead of sitting outside of windows? Nope, the only time they use it is when Christian tells Clara the answer to a question in class. The book doesn't say anything about whether it works through long distances, so they could've at least tried.
The ending was written pretty well. I really hope Clara gets to see her mother again.

★★★☆ (3.5 Stars)
Clara is part angel. As an angel she has a purpose in life...something she exists to fulfil. Her purpose is to meet Christian and presumably have a relationship with him. But a spanner is thrown into her destiny when she starts dating Tucker.
Hallowed is a really great book. It drew me in, it has characters I really like, it entertained me. But when I think about it...between the two books in the series so far, (Unearthly and Hallowed) I've read more than 800 pages.

Spoiler
and very little has actually happened
I didn't like how the author changed the main character so much. I loved Tucker and didn't like how the author replaced him with Christian.
