I liked this book better than Unearthly. Which is not typical because usually the second book is the least favorite of mine in a trilogy. I'm also pleased that I was a little more observant in this book and wasn't completely surprised by things that happened. There still wasn't a lot of action, but I liked the storyline better. The ending was a bit anti climatic but I think that's pretty typical in the middle books.
You learn a lot more about the angel world in this book, and something that I had an inkling of in Unearthly turned out to be true, which makes me feel better about being completely surprised by the twist in that book.
I still don't like Angela, though I don't really have a bad feeling about her anymore. She's just so jealous that it's really irritating. She's not a very good best friend. Sadly Wendy was hardly in this book and I missed her. Clara's decisions regarding Tucker and Christian were annoying at times but no more than any other YA love triangle.
Everything about Clara's brother, Jeffrey, was just... wow. Even if I hated this book that alone would get me to read the final book.

I'm a wee bit embarrassed at just how quickly I got through this book. I even shed a tear or two at the appropriately sad parts. It's been a nice, easy, guilt-less distraction for a day.
The plot thickens; Clara discovers more secrets about who she is and what her purpose might be; we meet more angel-bloods; questions raised in Unearthly are answered in Hallowed; and, of course, more questions are raised. For example, why do these YA fantasy books *always* have to have a love triangle of some sort? Katniss had Peeta and Gale. Bella had Edward and Jacob. Clara has Christian and Tucker.
Loved the little digs at the Twilight series, and the nod to C.S. Lewis's "The Great Divorce" toward the end. When book 3 comes out next year, I'll put it on my list to read when I need something light and fluffy.

This was spectacular. The twists were amazing, the emotions were real, and boy do I want a Tucker or a Christian. The end was really emotional for me, I cried. You see, I very rarely cry. The author gets everything right about the funeral. My face is still all teary. It was fabulous overall, though. Just sad at the end.
Almost gave it 5 stars. - Not quite.
A very good 2nd book of the series. Story continues, but new plot twists. Very emotional, so I had trouble reading through my tears.
Can't wait for the next one.

-Spoilers for Book 1 only-
PRETTY GOOD MAN IT WAS PRETTY GOOD.
I thought most of the plot twists in it were really predictable, but there were places where the author blatantly avoided clichés and I was very impressed by that. Not a whole lot happened in this book, to be honest, but it was an enjoyable read anyways. This was more of a book for personal growth than action and adventure, but it was nice too, in it's own way. I'm happy I already have the third book sitting next to me, anyways.
Definitely worth the time, if you've read the first one. I almost gave this book a five star, but I hate to give a book a five star unless it pulls something out of me. If I don't cry or laugh out loud at least once, no five stars will be given. But it was a good book, yes.

Nothing exciting really happens in this book. It is kind of a bridge book that is building up what will happen next. Do not like the love triangle at all. Why do I feel like she is not going to end up with the guy that I prefer? :( However, there are quite a few surprises in this book. The secrets her mom is keeping from her finally all came out at the end of the book. So you do get to learn more about Clara.
