This book was amazing. Compared to the movie I liked this one much better. It gave a lot of background that the movie seemed to lack but that also made sense since it's a prequel. The relationship with parent vs child was so strong and quite sad which fit perfectly with them being villains. The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is because there were a few times in the book where if you hadn't watch the movie you would have been a little confused. Other than that great book and I can't wait to read the next one.

The representation of some of the most iconic disney villains as parents with children were ridiculous. They lost their powers and now have mostly turned a bit insane. They are all trapped on an island that they can't escape. Some villains were brought back to life just to be trapped on an island. Beast and Belle are ruling over all the other princes and princesses and they decided it was a good idea to bring some of the most dangerous villains back to life just to make them serve a life sentence. Some of these villains died horrific deaths. There is absolutely no reason for them to be alive.
And just how is it that Beast gets to rule over all the other royals? It doesn't seem realistic that so many royals would give up their power and have the Beast rule over everyone and everything.
The names given to the children were terrible, except for Mal. I can kind of understanding naming the child Mal but the others just do not fit. The writing and interactions between the characters was a bit sub-par but some of the humor was enjoyable. The only character that I seemed to have enjoyed reading about was Carlos (son of Cruella De Vil).

Immature. In a word, this book is immature. The only thing this book has going for it is the cover-it's GORGEOUS. But, I must learn-Disney fanfiction just isn't good, even when endorsed by Disney.

The plot is virtually nonexistent, the characters were uninspiring and bland. Meh is really all I have to say. Disney references abound-some of which are incorrect, I was shocked to find (all were around Sleeping Beauty). It was strange.

I really need to stop reading Disney crap. Because that's exactly what it is. Crap, but that Disney brand draws me like a moth to flame.

I don't recommend this book to anybody. Please don't read it, you'll be a better person for it.

After reading Maleficent and being disappointed, I was worried that I wouldn't like this book. And while some things don't match the movie trailers playing like crazy on Disney Channel, I actually really, REALLY liked it.

I adored learning more about these characters, and just what they are going through as the kids of the greatest villains in Disney History (although Cruella is STILL a really odd choice cause greatest and her don't match much). It really sets the stage, leading right up to where the trailer makes it seem the movie will begin.
