Hands down. If you're a Once Upon A Time TV Series/Disney nut/magical geek like myself, then definitely grab this book (as if you already needed convincing after you've SEEN THAT BEAUTIFUL BOOK JACKET - what the heck is that?!). I had originally intended on grabbing another book that day, but the cover of this book drew me in and once I read that jacket and found out it was about some of Disney's best evil villain's children - what?! SUPER DUPER SOLD! Definitely a younger read, but it's fun.

I absolutely love the idea of this book! Not only are there the 4 main characters mentioned above, but there's random "guest" appearances throughout the story and every time they introduced another, I would just "EEEEEE!!" with excitement! This was definitely a fun blast-to-the-past read for me.

**Fun Fact: I found SO many errors from spelling to grammar to extra words.. doesn't take away from the book but it'll make you giggle. See if you can spot them!

Okay, so.

Descendants 1 & 2 are probably two of my favourite movies in the entire world. They might be cheesy and a little goofy and silly, but they have a good message and awesome stories to tell. They make me feel better when I'm at my lowest.

When I found out that Melissa de la Cruz was writing a prequel, and eventually a second book - I think I died a little bit.

I love the fresh take on these fairy tales, I love how fleshed out the characters are.

It's both whimsical and creepy and overall, just really well written!

I didn't think that I could love these characters, or this world anymore than I did after watching Descendants 1 & 2.

This is the first book that I have ever read that was an advertisement for a made for TV movie. And I liked the movie better.

This is more of a 3.5 but I rounded up. Decently entertaining.

Wasn't great, wasn't horrible.

Villains who are likable? It's an excellent retelling plot!

Muy lento, creo q se podía resumir en la mitad de paginas. La trama es muy pesada. Aunque creo que para niñ@s más pequeños estaria bn

I've loved descendants since I was young. I'm more into the first three movies and a bit purposely clueless about what’s going on after that. I am aware nostalgia plays a role. It’s a fast and lighthearted read. It details how abusive the parents are which the movies didn’t place much focus on. My main issue is that I wish the characters were younger in the story. It would make more sense that they were closer when the movie starts and the events of the book were a distant story. All four of them are very close in the movies so I wish they were tweens. Tweens are probably most of the people who read this anyway. The dream part was unnecessary same as then trying to force romance between the four. At least make it gay if you are going to do that. Overall even if this book wasn’t super profound, it gets a high ranking. I only listened to my heart.

4.5 stars!!
