in my pride i forgot the horror of starting unfinished series. this is the WORST.

this segment was good as the last two, glad to see characters experiencing PTSD realistically after horrific events. wolfe and santi being Dads is excellent. unfortunately Jess, the protagonist, is my least favorite character of the Main 6 and i wish the narrator were someone less.... teenage boy-angry. he has matured but Khalila is still 9000x cooler than him. also, character interactions are getting a bit repetitive and predictable, tho looks like the group dynamic has shifted permanently at the end?? guess i'll find out in a year or two ugh whatever

Can’t believe I’m saying this but... DNF’d @ 38%. I’ve been reading this book since June, it’s been 7 months of trying to push through but I just can’t.

I was hoping this would be the last book because I just need to know what happens in the end!

I'm flying through this series. The books are getting more clever and exciting as they go on. The imperfect heroes are so relatable, as well as that burning desire to change the world for the better.

Great for readers of the Divergent and Hunger Games series, and anyone who loves the library... so that should be everyone, right?!

The writing is still strong but this book is not as good as the first two. It is definitely suffering from middle of a series itis. Still love the characters and world. The writing still sucks me in and I don't want to stop reading. I can't wait for the next book.

Wow, what an ending! I totally loved this latest edition of THE GREAT LIBRARY series, which was full of drama, revelations, suspense, love, and betrayal. The story was fierce and dramatic for the first half, after the characters were kidnapped by rebels, adding a new perspective to this dark and grim world. From there, as Jess and his friends began creating a weapon of terrible power and Morgan's powers became more ferocious than ever, it was all I could do not to stop reading! It was great to see and learn more about characters I'm addicted to (also give poor Santi a break, yeesh!), and watch them overcome trials that I couldn't imagine trying to overcome. But hard choices need to be made and not every mission can be considered a success. There's a HUGE betrayal at the end and while it didn't make me angry at the character behind it (mostly because I'm just about to start book four), let's just say that it's not going to end well. I honestly can't get enough of the writing, characters, and lore of this world, and hope other readers pick it up and enjoy it!

The stakes are even higher for Jess Brightwell and his friends as they attempt to bring down the Archivist and restore honor to the Great Library of Alexandria. Starting with the cliffhanger ending from Paper and Fire, Jess and his friends find themselves as prisoners. Fnas of the series find out with another cliffhanger ending, Ms. Caine is expanding what was once a trilogy into a five book series.

Book four is expected to be published in 2018.

The Audible version of this book was disappointing in that the sound quality and volume was extremely low.
