I’ve never felt so much frustration about a FMC, then this one!
Like no backbone at all and when she could like stand up for herself. She still kind of didn’t do that.
The thing that like really got me through this, and the reason why I still gave it four stars is because the story was crazy and my frustration kept building because of her self-esteem. I just kept waiting for the shooter drop for her to finally stick up for herself.
Don’t give me wrong she did that somewhat, but I fully think that she could’ve gone about it harder than what happened and I didn’t get that satisfaction at the end of the book, but it was a satisfaction that I enjoyed it, really!!!

Mix a holiday Hallmark movie with a little 27 dresses, sprinkle heavily with some grumpy/sunshine and you have this story. It was cute and I enjoyed Grace and Hudson’s story.

A solid two because the spice was spicy. The two main characters were both insufferable.

I just finished over 500 pages in less than 12 hours. This book was hilarious, spicy and had all the Christmas feels.
Hudson is my new fav book guy.
And grandma Murray was really the shining star of this whole book 🤣
I would have given it 5 stars, but there was quiet a few spelling errors, times when things were being repeated and alot of the spicy scenes were like I was watching porn, very cringe words and very fake feeling.

If there’s one word that applies to Good Elf Gone Wrong, it’s “madcap.” You can’t think of this book as believable—Jacobs is working with exaggeration and caricature to create comedy. That’s particularly true of Gracie and her family. They’re a combination of extremes, especially in how they view Gracie—as the family doormat—and how Gracie views herself. But the great secret of Gracie’s family is that she’s the one who knows everything about her family business. It's just a shame that no one respects her for that.
And that’s something that Hudson learns slowly but surely. He’s trying to integrate himself into Gracie’s life when she hires him as a fake boyfriend in a revenge plot (it’s complicated). She has no idea that he’s trying to get insider information about her family’s business (this is revealed early on, so it’s not a spoiler). And he has no idea that doormat Gracie, with her over-the-top love of Christmas and her inability to say no to anyone in her family, is what he’s been looking for all his life.
You really can’t take Good Elf Gone Wrong seriously. Gracie’s family is so cruel to her, and since she accepts everything they dish out to her over and over again, that can be frustrating to read, especially as this goes on for almost all of this book. It also makes it hard to believe that Gracie is smart and capable. This is a slow-burn romance—Hudson has a lot to learn about Gracie, and it takes time for them to work through what they need to discover about one another.
But if you like whimsy, you love comedies where everyone’s extreme, and you enjoy slapstick, then you’ll love Good Elf Gone Wrong. It’s a holiday treacle pudding: very sweet with a soft spot at its core.
