What a wonderful, charming story! I had so much fun with this one. I hope we get news about the sequel soon as I can't wait to get my hands on it!

maybe i'm not reading it at the right time, maybe it's something else. I can't really explain but altho a lot interested me, I just couldn't find myself getting attached, and as i got closer to needing to read more the more i felt like it was a chore.
the writing felt a bit tell in place of show, with where i was in the story things just felt like they focused too much on the romance/etc more so than everything else. the characters felt kind of... flat, to me? i found gisela annoying, and the boys pretty one dimensional.
im sure it's a book for someone. but it wasn't a book for me, i think.

I'm really torn about this rating! Because I loved the majority of this, and just felt the ending was muddy... I reread the last several chapters trying to figure out what I missed. Feels like one of the 3 main characters didn't really get an ending and that's definitely bugging me. A weird ending can mess up so much!
Moderate: Child death, Death, Suicide, Violence, Murder

THIS IS A GOOFY READ! I listened to it and damn I love a good amount of bickering/flirting and character interaction. I truly can believe the emotional maturity of a 16 year old and it is so goofy to have little exorcist boy, rusalki, and humannot really villager. Lots of blushing in this.
I did have to question this book halfway through because like damn they all lowkey wanted to kill each other with Aleski being a bies. Him wanting Kazik's body was CRAZYYYY
Found family vibes with water spirits and the panic of maybe you want to kiss both peopleor like your mortal enemy
I really wish it didn't end the way it did though, which dropped it down.Marketing a book as poly and them not getting together is real sad even though its clear they are in love with one another.
Also like, I wish we got to see a bit more about their thoughts on gender! Especially with Gisela being like, damn I wanna be a boy in my next life, and Yulia, I used to be a drowner but I went ahh no
