This was a beautiful romantic fantasy inspired by Slavic folklore. Queer as heck, had the only type of worthwhile love triangle, and now l'm finding out it's not a standalone??? Ima need sequel details as soon as possible.

I loved this book! Right from the beginning I was hooked. The writing was romantic and yet haunting when it needed to be. The descriptions in this book are a magic in themselves. The lush landscapes, decadent foods, storybook town, and creatures from Slavic folklore are all a detailed so vividly.

I loved the three main characters. They all were conflicting with their own inner demons, literally at times, and I enjoyed seeing their growth. I loved the polyamorous relationship and am interested to see how that develops if there’s another book.

This book features multiple creatures from Slavic mythology not just the rusalka which I really appreciated. I loved seeing the spirit side of this world and how they all interacted with one another. There were some creatures I already knew but others that were introduced to me so I enjoyed learning about them all.

I understand this is a YA book so while I felt the ending was a little rushed that’s to be expected in a book about undoing curses/death by kissing. It also left off on a cliff hanger which I wasn’t expecting and am hoping there will be a book two. All in all, the writing and Slavic folklore made this such a fun read and I loved every second of it!
