Ok Storm is a freaking creep and why was so much of it in italics?

I think this is one of the books that should be read as a trilogy in one book, considering it's so short (but still enjoyable, just not as much as I enjoyed other books), so I'll check out book two and three before judging the trilogy.

But so far? It's OK. Light, quick read.

As a short story, this is perfect for a short flight! The plot is a little thin in some areas, but the author keeps the main elements intact. Make sure you have the second one lined up because this one is a 'to be continued.'

The latest entry in the Castle universe is the first short story in Derrick Storm series. Whilst the graphic novels are based on the works mentioned in the show which made Castle famous these appear to be set in a later time period after Storm's "death". This makes them the first real breakaway books not mentioned in the show.

In this volume Storm is brought back from retirement to help his old boss untangle a kidnapping involving the stepson of a high ranking politician. It also introduces a potential new love interest in Special Agent Showers.

A quick, fun action mystery it's good to see something new. It sets a mystery up for the second book due to be released in July. Looking forward to it.

A short story that introduces Derrick Storm. Like his Richard Castle sarcasm.

Good story and I had only been able to guess at one part of the mystery so it was a pleasant surprise to have an unseen twist,

If Richard Castle were a real person, he would be a better writer than this. This book has none of the charm or wit that Richard Castle's character exudes. It also doesn't seem to be written by the same ghostwriter as the Nikki Heat books (Tom Straw). And, whoever the ghostwriter is, he/she should be ashamed of him/herself for the gratuitous use of italics. If you're looking for a Castle fix during the show's summer hiatus, this won't give it to you.
