This book is about Indigo Johnson and the upheaval of her life following a messy, but necessary break up with a “newly” famous influencer. Instead of sulking and licking her wounds, Indie decides to confidently change the narrative for herself and social media by joining a dating show! She gets mixed up in a complicated love triangle with her childhood best friend, River,  and the star of the show, Kade.

I requested this book looking for a romance, but hunnyyyyyy the drama and complex characters are what made me stick around. The characters in this book are so dynamic and diverse across various identities and worldviews! I feel like my inner teenage self was SO pleased with this story and enjoyed it a lot. This book had all the things: some steamy smut, messy drama, hot male characters, diverse villains, and good friends.

I truly enjoyed every minute of reading this one - there were parts that made me giggle and kick my legs in the air like a school girl, gasping for air, and literally having to put the book down because of pure shock!

Grab some popcorn cause the drama and romance is one you’re not gonna wanna tear your eyes a way from.

If you’ve ever seen the bachelor, love island or the lovely scripted show UnReal. You are gonna eat this up. It’s utterly addicting. Fun, flirty, raw and messy.
Lipstick & Camera Clicks, is a hilarious yet sweet read. Perfect for those looking for a fun romance read with a fast paced story and a great cast of characters.

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for the arc.

Amount of spice:🔥
Explicitness: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Level of Slow Burn: Medium Burn

I gave this one extra points for hooking me in so quickly because I really did fly through the first 40% and I was really invested in knowing what was going to happen with everyone but I will admit, it really lost momentum towards the end.
I think this author’s writing style is fantastic, there was just enough drama to keep me interested but not so much that I thought it was over the top and I thought the whole premise of the reality show was great - there were just a few minor things that let it down.

I wanted the characters to be a little more fleshed out and developed. Both of the love interests felt a little two dimensional and the supporting characters were missing something. I also think there were just some strange miscommunication issues and the plot felt a bit jumbled towards the end. The spice however was fantastic, I was quite literally having to fan myself.

I would recommend it if you love a love triangle, friends to lovers or a large cast of diverse characters and a bunch of fun drama.
