I love Tomie Depaola and this is another that I love. There are not words but the pictures say it all. It is a great book for doing Bloom's taxonomy with. Dear god I can't read a book without thinking of that thing!!! All that work for some pancakes but the ending is not what you expect.
An almost wordless picture book about a woman who is determined to make pancakes and the various obstacles she encounters along the way. Good for making predictions and teaching sequencing. Most kids these days probably don't know that people actually milk cows and then turn that milk into butter, so that part of the story may prove fascinating.
Pancakes for Breakfast by Tomie dePaola – This is on kindle unlimited. Humorous with Little Red Hen diagnosed with ADHD vibes! Perfect for kids who won’t let you finish reading the words before they want to turn the page! Happy Reading!

Wordless old school picture book.
Great to learn vocabulary and the old ways in which people did things (like the time consuming process of making your own butter).

Completely wordless except for the pancake recipe shown in the lady's cookbook, labels on the food containers (flour, eggs, butter, maple syrup), and a couple of signs. At the end, the lady is shown in front of a sign on her wall that says: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." A perfect motto for this lady as she attempts to have pancakes for breakfast. I love the ending.
Silly lady shoulda' figured out if she had all the ingredients before she started making pancakes (but in that case, we wouldn't have a story). Funny all the way through, and possibly more so because you know what's coming next.
