A lot like Moby Dick. Way too much detail, but an interesting story in there somewhere. I'm glad I read it so I don't have to wonder about it anymore.(Sorry if I offended the Moby Dick enthusiasts. I could never get into that book. I promise I tried; I read it twice!)

I definitely think that this book is revolutionary, in its own way.  Published all the way back in 1870, I am amazed by how well it holds up

Overall, an enjoyable read once you get back the extreme detail in the descriptions. I found myself skimming through a lot of the information on every type of fish and vegetation. I love descriptive details, but Verne took it to a whole new level. However, in the end, I was glad that I read this classic.

It was a fun ride. I enjoyed the exploration of marine animal and plant life. Much of the other science stuff was lost on me. Overall I there wasn't anything super memorable about the story.
