This book series is so precious to me.  Just as compelling and beautifully written  as the first one

I um, I have no words. Actually, I have a lot of words but all of them are leaving my brain. First of all, thank you to Netgalley and Simon and Schuster for the advanced eGalley in exchange for an honest, and admittedly chaotic review.

Bloodmarked takes Bree Matthews' story to new heights and explores even darker themes than its predecessor. Just like Legendborn, Bloodmarked was fast-paced and packed a truly mean punch. This book made me laugh (Alice's whole existence just makes me happy), cry, gasp, and almost throw my iPad. The ending honestly made me stare at the wall wondering how I got to this point in my life. It was just an incredible experience.

Tracey Deonn is honestly a genius. The way she weaves the very real violence Black women have faced and continue to face into a YA Fantasy sphere works so well, and reading it is a truly humbling experience. It is such a huge part of our history that often gets buried and glossed over, and Deonn faces it head-on. The exploration of grief, race, and even power dynamics was just so brilliantly done.

I will now be banging my head against a wall while begging for more Brelwyn and sobbing over that ending.
