This story is a return to the tale of Gwendy, Castle Rock, and of others, I will not mention. There is so much that is familiar here that I feel like I am wrapped in a cozy, worn sweatshirt and settling down by the fire, but there is something outside the window, waiting. Richard Chizmar and Stephen King combine to form another great story. I hope there is more collaboration like this in the future!
A return to your favourite places, and yet... not so great. The Interstellar of the Stephen King opus.

With this third volume, the button box trilogy, which began quietly, ended in an "excessive" way, IMHO, because King armed a cannon to kill a fly and many questions remained unanswered, also because my reading of The Langoliers and The Black Tower really date back many years ago and I certainly missed something and not only in the sewers of Derry. Other than that, this is a novel that is easy to read and that doesn't disappoint, but then again, this is Stephen King.
I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

Gwendy Peterson will always be one of my favorite literary characters and an amazing woman, I’m sad to see the series come to an end, but each book filled me with wonder and a bit of fear of how people can truly be... there are definitely human monsters, and possibly supernatural ones...
Great conclusion to the trilogy. I loved the Dark Tower tie-in, it made this little story seem so much bigger.

When I first started this book, I was unsure if the premise was a good one... I mean, Gwendy in outer space? It sounded weird. As I continued reading, though, it began to make more and more sense, and as certain details played out I was both surprised and pleased at the connections to other SK works. I won't spoil anything, but I'll just say that I ended this book in tears, and it was really the only possible ending. Thanks, SK & RC.
