It wouldn’t be Corinne story without a little angst right?! This novella had the perfect amount of angst, sweetness & belief in one’s self. I love that Ben is not a ‘perfect’ man & that Gretchen sees past his imperfections. There’s nothing better than honest & pure love from the person you most cherish.

After reading Corinne’s Salvation series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book.
It was so nice to see all the gang again. And I have to say I’ve missed Liam and Natalie. (They are my fav couple and I wouldn’t say no to a novella about them) 😃😂
To say this was a short story I feel in love with it. I normally struggle for the connection to the characters. But with this book I didn’t.
Ben was amazing. He had had a hard few years and he was really struggling with the blows life had thrown at him. But he wanted to do better for Gretchen.
I felt for Gretchen, she hadn’t had an easy few months and was really struggling to get past what had happened to her.
I love Ben and Gretchen together, they have this chemistry that is just amazing!

Novellas are tough. They are shorter, so they have to get to the "meat" of the story quickly, but they have to build the connection in a way that is strong enough that you believe in the romance.

While there are a lot of ways to handle this, I tend to connect best with the ones that are a second chance, or at least have some sort of past relationship. Ben and Gretchen knew one another years ago and while a lot about them has changed, their attraction remains the same. Which, I think, comes as a significant surprise to both of them.

Ben has some reasons that he is not willing to believe that she could want to be with him...and, he needs some time to be convinced that when Gretchen is with him, she doesn't care about the things he feels should matter to her. It's not possible to go into this in detail, as it is a spoiler...but I can definitely say that he has reasons, and they are good ones and, this detail gave this story a strength that isn't usually present in a novella.

The story had depth that is uncommon in a novella as well, and this let me really feel the connection between them. Even though it was an "instalove" story when they get back together, it was a story that also built to the relationship in a way that I was invested in and believed.

I enjoyed this title and I recommend it.

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Being left at the altar isn't something anyone wants to go through, but that's exactly what Gretchen is going through. Luckily for her she has great friends and they offer a solution to her problem. Next thing she knows she is a Cole Security employee and working really close with her childhood sweetheart.

I loved Gretchen and Ben! I love a good second chance romance story and this was a very sweet one. They both had their own baggage they were dealing with, but they were both very comfortable around the other person so they were able to fall back into their friendship before anything else.

This book may be a novella, but it gives us a really nice Salvation Series fix. And I missed this crew! Mark had me laughing as soon as he appeared and of course Catherine and Jackson are there to makes things better. Gretchen had no problem fitting right.

This story was sweet, sexy with a little bit of funny thrown in. A definite must read for Salvation Series fans.
