Took a while to finish this book.... The first book of this series was fantastic, it hooked you in from the beginning, the second book not so much and this one just plummeted completely. I finished it because I wanted to know how it all ended after putting time with these books, but half way through I just wanted to stop. I would highly recommend reading the first book and leave it at that.

Not the ending I was expecting but the story wrapped up nicely. .Ms. Derting is a definite an auto read for me.

I was really hoping, with a more clear plot direction, this would improve on the second book and finish off the series nicely. Unfortunately, this reapted a lot of the things that I disliked in the second book.
For starters, this book still gives me really gross and creepy vibes. They're still pushing the love triangle of Tyler-Simon-Kyra, and Griffin is still interested in Tyler, but Griffin and Simon are obviously like 60+ years old even though they are in teen bodies. Tyler and Kyra actually are still teens!!! IN HIGH SCHOOL. It's just NOT okay. I always felt super uncomfortable reading it. Not to mention that Simon and Griffin hardly know them either, like only a few weeks and no real time spent together. They just read as child predators to me. Especially Simon, cause he just wants her. There is no connection. And he's a aggressive and pushy and just... it's disgusting when put all together. YOU'RE OLD ENOUGH TO BE THEIR PARENTS, IT'S NOT CUTE IT'S CRIMINAL.
The added perspectives of Simon and Tyler weren't awful, but my book had them in a completely different font that was jarring and annoying. (That's not Derting's fault though, so I'm not including it in my rating. Just wanted to mention it in my review.) And Simon in particular... all he thinks about is Kyra, but not in a loving way, or anything. His interest in her is just annoying and creepy as I mentioned above, but it's heightened in his viewpoint because he has no reason to be in love with her. He has literally nothing to think about, no positive comments about her personality. Because he has no connection or any way to relate to a 17 year old girl. It's just "where is she?" "Is she hurt?" "Everyone is stupid!" "ARGH Tyler sucks, she's mine!!!"
And then the end... more unnecessary twists that pack no punch. We dragged to get there, a lot of this book felt stretched. And I felt like there was some moral and illogical inconsistencies with motive at the end. Derting tried to make clear "good guys" and "bad guys" but drew the lines in all the wrong places.

Great ending
Loved the series as a whole. The storyline was great and fell in love with the characters. I'm sorry to see it end. Definitely a fun sci-fi read.

I had a great time reading the conclusion to this series. I do have to lower my rating a bit as not everything made sense, in a way. Like the whole thing with Adam was fine enough, but it was definitely not something I thought would happen. Other than that, the plot was intriguing and kept me interested the entire book. I also actually liked how the love triangle was done in this book, it’s not often I see the romance take a bit of a step back in the conclusion. Overall, a good, fun conclusion to the series.

It can be a little tricky coming back to book series when there has been a big break between books (which is why I generally try to just wait until a series is complete before starting!) As I began this book, I had vague memories of events from book one, but I really couldn't recall book 2 at all. I went to look up my review on GoodReads and ... I hadn't written one. In fact I hadn't marked the book as read. I could have sworn I had, but this lead me to think I'd been mistaken. I was able to get an immediate digital download from my library luckily ... and my Kindle memory took me to the end of the book, and there was a highlight or two. So HAD I read it? SO confused.
Maybe I lost my memory ... like Tyler. I reread book 2 and then picked up book 3 again. I'd downloaded the audio edition and wasn't caring for it. The narrator had been one of another series I hadn't loved, and I think that was impacting me. Unfortunately, my library didn't carry the Kindle edition, so audio it was.
I did like this book. I wasn't sure how things would wrap up here in the final book, but they did and I was pretty satisfied with it all. I'd recommend the trilogy.
