I picked this up randomly and didn't know anything about it, just that it was a dystopian fiction that I tend to enjoy. It was absolutely brilliant.
Extremely well written with fantastic characters. The plot is just starting to get interesting as the first book comes to an end, creating intrigue and definite excitement for the next book.
Bird is chaotic, unintentionally, but still. I am looking forward to seeing what she does next.
I am enjoying the building relationship between her and Sargo and want to see it to develop more whilst also learning more about this world they are living in

This is so my cup of grog.
Maybe not for everyone, but I am ass over tea kettle for this series!!! Not too long, not going to win any awards, BUT is reminiscent of classic adventure novels, but modern. <3

There is so much to love about this book! The characters are beautiful and broken. The setting is unique, dangerous, and fun.
Bird stumbles through life, but when she makes one bad choice with the best of intentions, it sends her careening down a path of danger, passion, and exploration that left me intrigued for the next book. Her friendship with Sargo is beautiful and heartbreaking, and his loyalty to her is a testament to the feelings he is clearly trying to suppress.
Seriously, if you haven't read this book, read it now! It's so good!

Boring. Boring. Boring.
The most interesting part was the last 8% of the book. The fmc had to be the most annoying character of any book I’ve ever read. She was rude, obnoxious, and a brat. She caused so much trouble me through it the whole story. There wouldn’t have been. A boon if it didn’t depend on how much of a fuck up she was. Definitely not reading book two.

Salt is an exciting adventure in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world brought about by a pandemic that occasionally strikes a little too close to home. But I assume that is the point. Together with a sprinkling of sci-fi and set of intriguing and deeply flawed characters, it draws you in quickly and keeps you on your toes. I also learned a lot about sailing.
My only criticism is calling the organisation of bad guys the 'Anonymity', a word I have trouble thinking without stumbling over, let alone saying out loud. I will no doubt have the pleasure of attempting to say it out loud on air, because we will be interviewing the author, Liz Shipton on our podcast What We Wrote! So keep an ear out for that episode!

Really solid start to this series. It started a bit slow but just kept getting better. I'm glad I stuck with it and can't wait to read the next book.
