I really enjoyed the adventure in this book as Bird encounters a wider world that is very different from what she’s been told. I’m keen to find out how the story expands in the next books in the series.

I haven't really figured out what all my exact requirements are for a book/series to be "oh my god so good"; but I'll be damned if this one doesnt tick boxes for me.

*Complicated characters who don't make the choices I would make -- and shenanigans ensue
(Listen - I've come to terms with the fact that in any of these fictional worlds, I would either promptly die or otherwise be an NPC who immediately settles. So when a main character chooses something dangerous...well, that's why they're a main character)
*Exploring humanity, existence, mental health, and relationships (family/found family/romantique) --in the context of some buckwild circumstances entirely removed from my non-fictional existence
*Storyline that has me yelling at my phone (in shock and/or excitement)
