No me podía quejar.

Damn right, I read it again. Unreal that this is fanfiction. It's truly incredible. I am SOOO looking forward to getting to read the published version when it comes out.

Like a star, he was glittering and ice-cold from afar, but when the space was bridged, the heat of him was endless.

I was so skeptical of the concept going in. I was afraid the Handsmaid's Tale setup would just be used for some gratuitous sexual content living out some Dramione fantasies. Oh boy was I wrong.
Granted, it took me a bit to be completely sold (until chapter 26 to be precise, IYKYK), however, I honestly can't remember when I was last so obsessed with and invested in a work of fiction. Whenever I had a free minute my eyeballs were glued to the page. I stayed up stupidly late several times. I was gasping, screaming, squealing, laughing maniacally. Too many emotions to be contained within this body.
There are a few tiny flaws, like overusing certain phrases or a certain repetitiveness in parts, but what this story does really, really well is tension, setting up ridiculously high stakes that feel believable, the overall structure of the story, how it plays with information and reveals, and the slow burn. The chapters are very well structured as well, usually leaving off with a hook so tantalising I just had to read on. The Handmaid's Tale set up was woven in with lore to make it plausible and I enjoyed the overall use and description of magic.
But, a warning, this story is dark. I think it is a good balance overall, not slipping into gore for gore's sake, but definitely not something for weak stomachs.
