A sweet road trip-type story about sisterhood and finding yourself. The POVs were nicely differentiated and yet still thematically connected, and although I was easily able to connect with Lulu's personality, Milagro grew on me as well. The twist with older sister Clara wasn't entirely surprising, and the relationships with side characters didn't necessarily feel as fleshed out as they could have been, but certainly a quick, fun read. Also, if Lulu/Leo ever get a ship tag on tumblr, it has to be otp: like lab partners?

So this book is a debut and I have to say it’s a pretty good one! It follows sisters Lulu and Milagro and they go on a a trip with their school to visit different colleges, with students from their sister school. Lulu and Milagro attend an all-girls St Agnes’ and the sister school is called St Anthony’s which is all boys, and wach student from each school are partered up. Which is how we meet Leo who is a fab character and I really enjoyed reading about him!
I think that the sisters made some rash and questionable decisions at times but I think it made the story have more layers and it really made me feel more emotions towards the book. I liked how the other sister, Clara, was not forgotten despite no longer being a student at St Agnes’ and was a key background character throughout the book.
Overall I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading about siblings, trips out of the city the characters live in and debating major life decisions in the characters lives. I am giving it 3.5 stars!

Lulu and Milagro's Search for Clarity was such a wild and heartfelt read! As the girls are struggling with different components of their lives they embark on a road trip to help them figure out some of the answers. This takes them on side quests that force them into unfamiliar situations that cause them to learn new things about themselves. Lulu and Milagro's sister relationship displays that despite their differences, they have commonalities that unite them, which is an aspect I really enjoyed. I feel like that element felt true to my relationship with my own sister (however, we are more similar than Lulu and Milagro appeared). I like each girls' individuality and their perspectives were unique regarding the situations they were finding themselves in. I've seen this marketed to people who liked Netflix's Never Have I Ever, and I totally agree! If you enjoyed that show, definitely check this book out!
