I really like the way Leigh Bardugo tells her stories. They really rope you in and you experience them firsthand. Her writing has a nice flow to it and captures what she is trying to portray really well. The plot of this final book was well developed, but I had a few things that I would have liked to be different. There was little to no resolution between Mal and Alina over what they experienced in the last book, and I found Mal's attitude strange. Another thing was that I did not expect what would happen at the end. That's a good thing, because it wasn't obvious, but I was kinda hoping that
The Darkling's character was so deep and complicated. He was so well written and developed. He was evil and did horrible things, but at the same time made you want to redeem him, and forgive.
I didn't like the ending, but that's not the fault of the author, it's just personal preference. Overall I enjoyed the book, but I'd say that my favorite one from this trilogy is by far the first one. I'm glad I got to read the conclusion in this one though. My favorite of Leigh Bardugo's books so far, is still the six of crows.

He didn't want to talk to or to touch Alina, but then he'd randomly kiss her. He never fully apologized either. I found that I would have liked to have seen more of him as a person and also I really wanted them to sort out their problems.Spoiler
there would be a final battle against the darkling. Or that Alina's powers would be enhanced by the amplifiers long enough to beat him, and then they'd disperse into the other people afterwards. I thought it was cool that her powers had left her and spread into the normal people. It was a cool message about how just because they aren't Grisha doesn't mean their lesser.The Darkling's character was so deep and complicated. He was so well written and developed. WOW. WHAT A JOURNEY. great plot, good ending (although it’s always hard to face an ending). i’m so so glad that there’s more to the grishaverse. what fab characters and stories, i wish there was more time devoted to the relationships than just the plot. the ragtag team of what’s left of the second army- SO much potential to develop there. IMAGINE if we had more that simple fleeting scenes between the darkling and alina. honestly, i didn’t know who i wanted alina to end up with. a fitting ending, although it didn’t make too much sense to me. just enough loss to be believable. what a tale of loss, belonging, greed, power, faith, loyalty, and love. i can’t believe this is most ppls least fave part of the grishaverse.

3.5 Ruin and Rising is the perfect name for this book, I'll give it that. To be the last book of the trilogy the plot is quite predictable. I was going to give it just 3 stars, but we have some good backstories and good secondary characters development. Those are the good points of the book. If you liked the first two, go and check out how this ends, it might not be the perfect ending but it make sense at least.
Mi mayor problema siempre fueron Alina y Mal, y la chica mejoro un poco en la primera mitad del libro, pero después se vuelve lo mismo y aunque Mal dejo de ser el borracho ridículo inútil del segundo libro, sigue siendo un simplón aburrido para mi.
Durante el libro tendremos ciertas paginas un tanto aburridas, sobretodo al inicio, pero una vez Nikolai llega todo se vuelve mucho mas rapido, ademas que la backstory que Baghra le cuenta a Alina es muy buena! Y ahi va el primer giro que no me gusto, Al final me quede con muchas preguntas, preguntas que deberían haberse contestado.
PUNTOS EXTRA PARA NIKOLAI! a Alina y Mal los voy a olvidar, pero Nikolai ese si es un personaje de verdad! LIKE.
El final fue muy agridulce pero me gusto que tuviera cierto sentido :D
Otra cosa que me gusto fue que al juntar los tres amplificadores el poder de Alina se, pues, amplificara duh! hacia otras personas y dejara a Alina, esa era la única forma en que Alina y Mal fueran a estar juntos ya que con su poder ella debería de tener mas obligaciones y la distanciaría de Mal como siempre hizo, lo malo es que no fue decisión de Alina dejar su poder, ella no sabia lo que iba a pasar, y eso es algo negativo, se queda con Mal porque al final del día ninguno de los dos tienen a alguien mas, y no quieren tener a alguien mas, PATÉTICO! pero bueno al menos hicieron algo productivo de sus vidas, y eso si me gusto, que se encargaran de los huerfanos.
NIKOLAI, TE AMO! ALEKSANDER, SIEMPRE SERAS RECORDADO.
Creo que lo principal que Bardugo quiso dar a entender en este libro es lo fácil que caemos ante el poder, sobretodo cuando ya lo tenemos.
Que es infinito? El universo y la codicia del hombre!
Y me parece muy bien pero desgraciadamente esta trilogía entra a esa categoría donde están Divergente, Shatter Me, y varias otras que no recuerdo ahorita: Entiendo la lección que quieres enseñar pero no la desarrollas bien, y eso hace que tu libro sea muy olvidable. Agregando que la historia romántica es simplemente un FIASCO!
No se que mas decir, no es el tipo de historia que se queda conmigo, fue divertido, hasta cierto punto. Tiene varias ideas buenas, una trama general (muchos libros ni eso tienen), buenos personajes secundarios. Pero no es suficiente, no se si soy yo la que pide mucho de un fantasy, o si de plano la autora fallo con la historia. En cualquier caso: Recomiendo la trilogía para los que quieran una fantasía sin mucha sustancia. Pero con varios detalles interesantes.

todo iba a tener sentido si Alina fuera la descendiente de la segunda hija de Morozova, asi que: porque tiene que se Mal?, no tiene sentido, y si así lo quería dejar entonces que rayos con Alina, como nació con un poder especial? no hay explicacion para eso, ni para todo lo relacionado con la MAGIA del Darkling y Morozova, como es que ellos de entre todos los Grisha eran capaces de hacer magia, y no solo "controlar la materia", mejor dicho Morozova, el Darkling siendo su nieto se entiende, pero Morozova?, lo único que dice es en ese tiempo no había distinciones entre ser un Materialki, Corporalki, etc, y ya.PUNTOS EXTRA PARA NIKOLAI! a Alina y Mal los voy a olvidar, pero Nikolai ese si es un personaje de verdad! LIKE.

okay this one was my favorite of the three!! read this one in less than 12 hours, didn't want to put it down
-i HATE when the FMC has to lose all of her powers, but I guess in this case Mal lost "his" too so fine I guESS - I did like how the sun powers transferred to others and how the fold was destroyed but yeah rip Alina
-looooved the found family vibes this book had compared to the other two, I thought there was more humor and banter too
-i never really picked up on romantic feelings between Alina and Mal, definitely always felt it was just a true best friendship ?
-however, that didn't stop me from crying through the "After." I love a HEA and that's what we got - the full circle of Alina and Mal taking over at Keramzin and running things differently felt like a good way to wrap up their story. I am so happy that their relationships with everyone didn't fade and that we got to see Genya, David, Zoya, Nikolai, etc all visit. that made me cry too
overall, I thought this trilogy was good but not great, but the ending had me crying lololol so that's why I am bumping this one up to 4
