This was super cute and fun. It had some good spice maybe like 2 chili peppers. I would recommend.

My first 5⭐️ read of 2024! I absolutely adored this book! I always love a good enemies to lovers story! As a teacher myself, I loved that Juliet and Sam are both middle school teachers! A romance story that not only focuses on the main characters, but the other individuals involved in their lives! I know it’s early, but I already know this is going to be one of my favorite reads of the year!

As a teacher, I loved this romance! For the most part, I feel like the characters are a good representation of what it looks and feels like to be a middle school teacher. There were funny moments and very emotional moments. I had to take away a star because they do start off in a sort of enemies to lovers situation and they go from hating to loving each other way too quickly. They also marry within a year of starting to talk to each other which felt too rushed.

this book stared into my soul, slapped me across the face, called me a bitch, and spit on me

and I loved every second of it

for the love of god this book was everything I have ever wanted. slight enemies to lovers/grumpy x sunshine but not even being grumpy sunshine because Juliet is just a type a teacher GOD FUCK ME UP.

listen. LISTEN. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. the second I started reading it I was like “yeah this author HAS to be a teacher” because she GOT IT. SHE GOT IT. So I was very pleased to see that she actually is. Everything in this book was so incredibly accurate in terms of their “teacher lives”. The successes, the struggles, the moments of defeat, and the absolute giddiness when you realize you have made a positive impact on a student fucking GOT. ME. AND GOD THE CHARACTERS. i loved them. I loved them so fucking much. I loved the way the relationship built. I loved all of the side characters. I loved how we actually got to see both of them come to accept things about themselves and each other

AND THE BIGGER MOMENTS? ALL OF THR FOSTERING STUFF? UGHGHG

GOD FUCK. i wanna read this book again.

I knew that I was going to like this book, but I didn’t know that I was going to LOVE this book. I love my boyfriend very much, but I would break up with him in a heartbeat if I had a chance to date a teacher like Sam Ford, in all of his kind caringness and his real life messiness. It was a pleasant surprise to read a book about a teacher written by someone who actually understands what it’s like to be a teacher and all of it’s day-to-day intricacies of student engagement, assessments, administration, lesson planning, parent communication, and imposter syndrome. I feel seen.

- just realized it’s only 30% in and lots have happened but I’ve also not really realized it cuz I was immersed. I like reading books like that
- it’s cute that they have a crush. Makes me think if any of my teachers back in the day were like this
- definitely hot
- hmmm a a stabbing seems a bit excessive for this kind of book but ok
- I’m glad she realized that she doesn’t want to lose Sam over this
- ok cute cute. I’m glad everyone got a happy ending
