He talks about everything and extracts meaning from it all, and what I love most is his account of so much of what we seldom talk about as people because of shame, though it is a provocative take on “everything is copy.”

Got the drop on me by being Book 7 of My Struggle in disguise

I loved the first five "My Struggle" books by Knausgaard (awaiting the sixth and final one in English later this summer) and so I was very excited to hear that he was writing a seasonal quartet of books in the form of a letter to his baby. But when I got the first one - Autumn - I was really disappointed. It was basically "look at the pretty flowers." So I skipped Winter (apparently a good idea) but had heard that Spring was a return to form. And it was. I really loved this book. It is again a letter to his child but this time it takes place over the course of a day in her early life and relates the sad story of his wife/her mother's struggle with depression. (The book ends with an optimistic epilogue, but apparently they're now divorced, so.) He beautifully balances the idea that there is a lot of hurt in the world with the fact that there is a lot of beauty - a lovely thing to transmit to your child. And, as usual, he obsesses on the mundane and the simple to bring those truths to light.

Treće godišnje doba je još jednom ličnije i dublje. Karl Uve menja strukturu pisama [b:U proleće|57558153|U proleće|Karl Ove Knausgård|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1616977659l/57558153._SX50_.jpg|50800587] i svojoj novorođenoj ćerki opisuje porodični život koji je prethodio njenom rođenju, a u isto vreme prvi put dopušta da zavirimo u njegovu ranjivost i višeslojnost emocija.

Ovo mi je bez razmišljanja najbolji deo tetralogije i radujem se letu i [b:U leto|58468967|U leto|Karl Ove Knausgård|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1625172502l/58468967._SX50_.jpg|52074030].
