That ending was crazy. Overall, a typical YA mystery. HATED the MC the majority of the time, she was really mean half the time for no good reason. I liked the other side characters though.

Cover? Yes. Plot? Even more yes.

I was glued to this book because I needed to solve this mystery (and because I haven’t read a YA mystery/thriller in a while). I was here for every twist and turn. I had theories and backup theories that I kept changing and then reverting back to because damn , things moved fast. After going back and forth with my theories being right and wrong ... I’m happy to report that one of my hundred theories was right!

I loved Beckett and reading her family life, especially with the small town culture while she is the centre of a horrific rumour-induced mystery. She gave me Pippa from A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder vibes which is probably why I enjoyed her narrative. Pippa too would start the book off by breaking into her ex’s car and then using the law in her favour.

Also that author’s note at the end ... goddamn. I love the story even more now.

4. 25⭐. An amazing YA contemporary ➕ mystery book. I loved it almost whole way through. The twist and turns are very engaging and I was never bored. Also the family dynamic is very realistic and gentle. I also liked the portrayal of social mefia bullying/toxic mob mentality vs. the truth a lot. It's somehow a very relevant topic.

But I was a bit annoyed by the main character at points since she accused literally every character in the book the first hint she got. It gets frustrating after this happened three times.

I had to give up reading novels for a month or so because I was preparing for my exams. I am finally done with my exams and you have no idea how happy I am to finally read something that is not a law textbook with hundreds of cases and authorities that I am supposed to cram into my head.

Unfortunately for me, the first book I picked up to read, which is this book by the way, was just a drag. It basically put me in a reading slump. From the very first page, I felt that there was something off about the writing style. The joy of reading is being able to have some kind of emotional connection with the characters in a book and that's what makes you become invested in that story. And, this book failed to pull me in emotionally, I didn't feel connected to any of the characters or even the story. It took me days to read ten chapters of this book and I decided to skip the middle chapters and go over to the last chapters to find out how the book was going to end. I couldn't even bring myself to finish those last chapters and I finally decided to to give up this book.
My textbooks are definitely more interesting than this book. I just hope the next book I read will be better than this one.

Things I Liked:
-I felt like the author did a good job being respectful while talking about very sensitive topics (addition, teen pregnancy, relationship issues, family dynamics, bullying, rumors, friendships, etc.).
-I liked how Beckett was a strong female lead who spoke up for herself and set boundaries with others when needed.
-The mystery was good & kept me guessing until about 75% of the way through the book.

Things That Didn't Sit Quite Right With Me:
-I really disliked the rumor mill but I understood why that was part of the story.

Overall, this book was good & I gave it 3 stars.

A powerful story about hidden secrets, how damaging rumors & the internet can be and finding the strength to move forward after tragedy. Lots of red herrings and the ending will surprise you. Just when I thought I figured it out, bam! Another twist in the story. Be sure to read the afterwards by the author. She provides insight to the story behind the story.

Excuse me ma'am who gave u permish to make me this emotional!!!!!!! Bloody heck there were points during this when i was fully stressed. Every Single Lie is a dark story of a dysfunctional family in small town, faced with a horrible tragedy. Although one of the biggest tragedies is that the main girl in this is called Beckett, and her sister is called Landry. Ahhhhhh America NO.

So the main premise of this book is that the main character, Beckett, finds a dead, newborn baby in her boyfriends gym back in the school locker room. What the fuck right? Then is honestly gets more fucked up, rumours start flying and secrets start coming to light.

I've read a couple of crap YAs recently in particular on audible - the teen-ness is so cringe when they say the words out loud im like ewww nooo. But I literally cannot read actual physical words in a physical book at the moment I'm literally audioing my way through life, SO ignored my judgement and got this. Im reeeally glad I did because it was so not cringe and I loved it. It's v well written and I found it hard to put down, the plot was quite mad but not unbelievable. Just found it v addicting, mysterious and affecting tbh. If u like YA I would rec.

I have to say that ya thrillers are sometimes kind of silly, very fast to read but also not that deep either, while this one was very well written although I did understand where this was going at some point it doesn't really matter. And also
Spoiler since I understood the little sister was the one who had a baby, for a while there I was scared there was going to be a r*pe storyline so when she explained who the father was I felt a bit relieved just like the mum was

What an intense and heart breaking novel. I’m not even sure where to begin but I didn’t want to put it down, I didn’t want it to end. I want to follow this family into another story just to see how they’re doing. The trigger warnings are a mile long, it each trigger is handled with elegance and respect.
