I have some mixed feelings about this one but overall I had a really fun time with it.

During the first chunk I wasn't expecting this to get any higher than a 3 star: I found the main character unlikeable, some elements of the setup quite flimsy, and I got sick of hearing how handsome Andrew is on what felt like every page. BUT, with part 2 and onwards it really turned around. The plot took a different direction I really enjoyed, and started to explain some of the iffy plot from earlier. It was fun, tense, fast paced and just a little bit silly.

The last 150 pages I read in one day, I was just so into it and so immersed, it really pulled me in with that drama packed thriller feeling.

Overall a good time that was fully entertaining throughout

Book Club has started strong this year! It is incredibly fast-paced, with short chapters that keep you powering through it. I love a mystery that makes you desperate to know more and understand, and this sucks you in from the very first chapter. That "I need to know" feeling propels you through this story. The twists that they advertise on the cover do not disappoint, and I was absolutely shocked. The last 40% of the book keeps you on your toes. Be prepared to read this in one sitting!

The confinement and physical/mental abuse in a domestic violence situation are prevalent throughout this book. The fat shaming and comments on one of the character's body, weight and general appearance can be difficult to read.

Can I say I'm disappointed when I did not except a thing?

I liked the ending, however

I'm tired of reading thrillers that end up being about horny women bedding someone's husband.

The build-up wasn't great and the twists didn't work because there was barely any clues to begin with. Lack of information does not make a twist great. Poorly done.

The ending left me with a lot of questions - how will she continue to free women of their abusive husbands and still evade the law?! Surely that detective who helped Nina out the first time is not going to just be able to indefinitely save her from the clutches of justice?!

Don’t look at the trigger warnings, they definitely spoil you, the book is so good that I actually don’t have anything to say, but this thriller might just get me to read more thrillers!!
As someone who usually doesn’t read thrillers, this was such an easy read
