As this book went on I kept concocting my own increasingly wild theories about what might be happening but in the end none of them actually came close to the real answers.

this felt like eating a cake that looks extremely good on the outside but tastes like a forkful of disappointment. the plot hooked me in immediately and 30% into this, i expected the story to do so as well but unfortunately the most entertaining parts about this were the scenes where beth’s daughter zannah, tries to help her figure out what the hell is going on because her quips and theories were really funny.

on the subject of what the hell was going on, i expected something way bigger, outside of the really sad georgina event, and all that running back and forth and huge coverup to lead to a very ott ending that didn’t quite fit the development made me feel like someone had popped my balloon.

It had potential, but too much of it was unrealistic. Why were the 2 sets of kids identical clones of each other? That makes no sense. And Flora just ignores the new set of kids? I think the author had an interesting plot idea, but didn’t know what to do with it.
