True rating: 5.0 -- this was a quick reread for me, as i've already read this book twice in the last 4 years since it was published. it will always be special to me, as it's the book i wanted back in 2013 when i met Kate Harris at my high school just a few days before graduation and this story changed the trajectory of my life completely. once my travel companion during my own travels across far away cities and countries, to read it again now makes me feel nostalgic for those times of adventure and moments of pure wonder towards the corners of the world i've been privileged to see. i'll always be grateful for this book and its author <3

This was one of the most lovely books I have read.
If you're into adventure, history, science, poetry, or any of the above, I would settle on in and crack this one open.
Kate's style of writing roped me in every time I picked up Land of Lost Borders, and swept me right into her journey. As a human-powered adventurer myself, I loved each musing on the road and the internal dialogue. Each piece resonated with a piece of my soul.
I am heading out on a long cycle-tour with my own best gal friend in a few months, I may just have to read this again while on the road.
