New to me author

Honestly this book took me too long to read considering it has everything that I normally would be running towards.

I think it was well written and contained some sensitive points that at times I found hard to read.

I would like to revisit the other stories at a later date.

This was my first foray into mafia romance and it did not disappoint. There were a couple of twists and turns that kept me interested until the end.

I am surprised that I didn't DNF this one. I was all set up for dark, tense, and emotional, but it just couldn't deliver. Strong start. Weak finish. The shock and horror of the subject matter was out of sync with the character and plot development. Not a fan.

Eh. Thw beginning was really good. But I wish the male main character was a little rougher than he actually was. But overall enjoyed this story

I listened to an ALC of this book, and it was a great listen for my work commute!

The chemistry between Elsie and Michael was even more tangible through audio!

Some of the darker stuff was skimmed over and I feel should have had more impact on the heroine. The hero was strong on the alpha protector but morally grey scale and was the star of the story for me. Not sure if I'll continue the series right away, but that's due to needing a mafia break not on the author.

ARC REVIEW:

I really enjoyed this book. I don’t usually read a lot of mafia but I took a shot on this one and I was really surprised. The relationship between the two main characters was a lot sweeter then I thought it would be and I loved that. The daughter was such a fun character, I loved her so much. And that plot twist?? I did not expect that AT ALL. I will definitely read more from this author!
